In 2006, I published my first monograph, Pees On Earth, with powerHouse Books/Miss Rosen Editions. It is a photographic series taken while urinating that is a travelogue over eight years and reflects a period in my life discovering sexuality, philosophy and boundaries. Since its release, my work focuses on piss, as a subject matter and an expression, and the macroscopic and philosophical view on the fluid possessing feminist qualities also deeply influenced by urban and graffiti filled streets from my hometown NYC. Does the fluid mark left behind exist longer than it is visible? Is existence in you or in the marks you leave behind? I call this questionable mark The Existential Pee Puddle as it is at once full of reflection and expression yet will dissolve. My new work manipulates dualities such as public and private, world and spiritual, yin and yang, and manifests in works on paper, mixed media installation and sculpture to “break down the bathroom walls.” My first solo show was in 2000 at the Vice Magazine Boutique NYC and have since been invited to exhibit in group shows and art fairs, most recently at Pulse Miami 2009 where I sold my first neon piece. I am self-taught with strong influences from Chinese painting and calligraphy since childhood. I apprenticed with a photographer in 1997 and in 1999, my photographs of street reportage and portraits were published over 16 pages in Zing Magazine, an art publication in SoHo, NYC. I entered the Surface Magazine Avantguardian competition in 2002 and won. I still use the photographic medium to document my life. My latest art book project titled, Getting To Know My Husband’s Cock, is slated to release in Fall 2010. I live and work in NYC.
