Life casts of the artist in her own formulated ink are built up in layers in plaster molds and dried. The ink surface may still be used as pigment with water and heat. The medium for her pigment is organic - animal gelatin - and custom mixed carbon black. Liquid ink emerges out of the dried ink sculpture at its temple. Here, Jong externalizes the invisible processes of thought, memory, and psychic endurance, rendering them as a fluid material system that renews itself.
